There is a lot to be said about the concoction of emotions that one feels when one feels grateful. Contentment, relaxation, happiness, pleasure. As much as we don't all know the mechanics of emotion and we never think of them as we experience them, what differentiates gratitude from other positive emotions is that more often than not, we can pinpoint the source of it with extreme preciseness.
When we are grateful, we usually know for what and why, and how it is that it happened. Gratitude floods us top to bottom with that pleasurable juice of self love, the realization that we've nailed it, that we have it good, that we know what happened to make it so.
The precision of this particular emotion is unique and its impact on our happiness, instantaneous.
