Dochia Digital Assets – Terms of Use & Legal Disclaimer

1. Ownership and Distribution

All digital assets are sold through Dochia Media, which owns and operates Dochia Academy. Content may be created by Dochia Interior Design or other approved contributors. In all cases, copyright remains with the original creator. Dochia Media functions as the official distributor and reseller of these materials.

2. Usage Rights (PDF and Non-Modifiable Files)

Unless otherwise outlined in the document:

- The documents are licensed for use by the original purchaser only.
- Redistribution, resale, or rebranding of the file or its contents is strictly prohibited.

If you are a professional user (designer, architect, contractor):
- You may use the documents for internal work, team use, or as part of deliverables for a client project—but you may not share editable versions or remove branding.

If you are a homeowner, condo board, or individual end-user:
- You may share the document with your project team (e.g., your designer, contractor, builder) for the sole purpose of completing your own personal project.
- You may not modify, resell, or use the materials in other settings or on behalf of others.

In all cases:
- All logos, design credits, and authorship marks must remain visible and intact.
- These materials are not transferable beyond the specific project or user for which they were purchased.

3. Editable File License (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, AutoCAD, etc.)

Editable versions of documents are available for an additional fee. This license grants limited modification rights, depending on the user type:

All users:
- You may adapt the file for your specific project needs.
- You may not share editable files publicly, rebrand them, or use them to create derivative products for commercial distribution.

If you are a professional:
- Editable files may be customized for internal client work, but you may not provide the raw file to your client or third parties without a separate extended license.

If you are an end-user:
- Editable files may be shared with your hired professionals (designer, contractor, etc.) only as part of your own project. Redistribution or use on other projects is prohibited.

This license is comparable to purchasing licensed photography: you may use it, but you do not own the source file, nor may you give it away.

4. Code Compliance Disclaimer

All technical documents, guidelines, and specifications are compiled with care and reference the most recent codes available at the time of publication. However, building codes (e.g., Ontario Building Code, ADA, local municipal regulations) may change over time, and each project has unique compliance needs.

It is the sole responsibility of the user—or any professionals they engage—to:
- Verify local compliance
- Confirm applicability to current regulations
- Seek formal review from architects, engineers, or code consultants as required

Neither Dochia Interior Design nor Dochia Media assumes liability for:
- Compliance failures
- Misinterpretations
- Project delays or cost overruns resulting from misuse of these materials

5. Limitations of Liability and Use Substitution

These resources are designed as supportive tools, not substitutes for licensed professional services. Any substitutions, edits, or interpretations made using editable documents are at the user’s own risk. Use of these assets does not constitute professional advice nor does it guarantee project success.

End-users should seek expert consultation (designer, architect, project manager) before making construction or purchasing decisions based on these files.

6. License Violations and Enforcement

Any breach of these terms—including unauthorized sharing, rebranding, resale, or commercial replication—may result in:
- Termination of license
- Revocation of access to future Dochia materials
- Legal action for intellectual property infringement
