Note that in certain cases, efficiency drops when collaborations happen unstructured. Enquire about our non-design strategy services that will help you keep all that together.
Our role
Our role is to establish the parameters of that vision. We work from the high-level decisions down to as much — or as little — detail as you need. Once the framework is established, downstream tasks can be carried out by you, your contractor, suppliers or other consultants, with Dochia plugging back in where design expertise matters.
Co-making design with you
We do this through a collaborative working model developed over more than 10 years. Rather than spending professional time developing everything behind the scenes and presenting it to you afterward, the thinking and decision-making happen with you through focused work sessions, progressive reviews and curated starting points. You access high-level design expertise in less time, stay inside the decision-making process, and concentrate professional fees where expertise has the greatest impact.
Our services are available incrementally, from ready-made design resources and curated presets to 3-step and 5-step Micro-services, custom design and full professional involvement. Each step produces something you can use. Stop there, continue with us, or take the framework to your own team.
Your gain
Control. You form the vision for your home in a logical sequence, building familiarity with every decision as the design takes shape. The most valuable gain: through the process, you learn how to make firm decisions you will not second-guess. It matters less whether you consider yourself a good decision-maker or not. Read HERE more.
The context
Contractors, suppliers and trades can offer materials, fixtures and solutions — and many can handle much of the legwork extremely well — but without an overall design vision, you’re left with a patchwork of individually good decisions that miss the mark. → The 3 Pillars of Good Design in the Health Age, replacing the function/form of early modernism
What is good interior design anyway?
Interior design is the way the space around you flows, works for you, and makes you feel. And that is not created by the products. It begins with establishing the spatial elements that become the armature of function, aesthetics, and emotion.
That armature is what creates the cohesiveness of the space itself — and, more importantly, the bond between you and the space.
Ready to work with us?
You can start with as little a commitment as an open consult, buy a bundled package (watch for seasonal discounts), then decide whether to continue. You will leave with knowledge about your home and the process, and a clear, tangible spatial strategy you can follow.
That is how every step works: strategic thinking ➝ co-create ➝ get the result.
Each step takes 1–3 weeks, with many of the smaller ones — such as the Micro 4s — delivering results on the spot.

→ The 3 Pillars of Good Design in the Health Age, replacing the function/form of early modernism
Good design begins with understanding how the spatial environment can support the person who will inhabit it. It does so much more than solve function and form.
An interior is part of the system through which we live every day: it shapes movement, attention, sensory load, daily rhythms, behaviour and how we feel within our surroundings. Selftropy® looks at space as one of three interacting dimensions — Time, Space and Language — that influence how we function and sustain wellbeing. Design therefore
While function and aesthetics remain essential, they sit alongside a third pillar: the human response to space. An interior is not a collection of beautiful rooms or objects, but an environment whose geometry, positioning, visual relationships, sensory qualities and daily use create cohesion between the space and the life and activities taking place within it.
→ Decision making
What most people think matters…
Being a good decision maker only gets you so far. Most of us are good at making decisions in contexts we know. You know your business, your work, your family, your life — you know the variables, so you can weigh them and decide.
Design is different. You are asked to make hundreds, sometimes thousands, of decisions while the context itself is still being created. You rarely know all the variables, some decisions depend on things that have not been decided yet, and what looked right three weeks ago may need to shift because something else moved.
What actually matters…
The real skill is not being a good decision maker.
It is being comfortable making decisions when you only know 40 or 60 percent of what there is to know— making an assumption, moving forward, revisiting it, adjusting, sometimes changing your mind, and not seeing that as failure. At the beginning stages you only know 20%, and you still need to make major decisions.
That is the design process. The better you become at moving through that uncertainty without second-guessing every decision, the easier the process becomes — and the more control you actually have.
Can you work and make good decisions at that level of contextual uncertainty? Part of working with us is guiding you through how to do that and not regret those decisions later.
