FAQ

INTERIOR DESIGN

Q: What types of design projects do you take on?
A: We work on a wide range of projects including multi-unit residential, hospitality, boutique commercial spaces, private homes, and wellness-focused environments. Each project meets and exceeds aesthetic and practical requirements and is tailored to support emotional wellbeing.

Q: Do you work internationally?
A: Yes. While we are based in Canada, we serve clients globally through a combination of on-site work and remote collaboration.

Q: How is Land of Dochia different from other design firms?
A: Our firm is different in two major ways. First, we offer multiple delivery models, including our highly efficient Hybrid Method™, which allows clients to scale the design process according to their needs, timeline, and resources. Second, our design philosophy integrates aesthetics with psychology, wellbeing science, and narrative design principles—creating spaces that don’t just function beautifully, but actively elevate how people live, work, and feel.

Q: Can you tell me more about Dochia’s Hybrid Services?
A: The Hybrid Method™ is a flexible alternative to traditional full-service design. It combines standard design work with digital assets, advisory services, Micro-Services™, and client participation. Clients can engage in co-working sessions, use our curated Nano-Packages™, or work with their own team while receiving expert guidance along the way. This model makes high-level design expertise more accessible, efficient, and fully adaptable to different project profiles, budgets, and locations.

Q: Do you still offer full-service design?
A: Yes. Our Standard Method delivers a fully managed, traditional design service—from feasibility and concept design to detailed working drawings, construction administration, and project coordination. The Hybrid Method is an additional offering for clients who prefer more flexibility or a co-working approach, but full-service remains available for projects that require comprehensive end-to-end design management.

Q: What if I only need help with a small part of my project?
A: We also offer Micro-Services™—targeted, bite-sized solutions that focus on specific design challenges or isolated project phases. These services are fast, economical, and ideal for clients who need expert input without engaging in a full design contract.

EXPERIENCE DESIGN

Q: What is experience design and how is it different from interior design?
A: Experience design goes beyond the physical arrangement of spaces. It’s about crafting immersive environments that engage emotions, shift perceptions, and create memorable atmospheres. While interior design focuses on function, form, and aesthetics, experience design layers on the emotional, sensory, and psychological dimensions—transforming a space into a narrative journey that stays with its visitors.

Q: What types of projects benefit from experience design?
A: Experience design is ideal for hospitality venues, cultural institutions, wellness retreats, senior living communities, and even private residences where mood, storytelling, and emotional resonance are central to the space’s purpose. Each project is carefully orchestrated to create a distinct emotional impact, much like stepping into a beautifully directed film or immersive art installation.

Q: How is your experience design approach informed by the House of Dochia?
A: The House of Dochia research explores how design intersects with positive psychology, language, and wellbeing science. This informs our experience design work by providing scientifically grounded methods for creating spaces that not only look extraordinary but also support cognitive, emotional, and social wellbeing—helping people feel restored, inspired, and connected within the environments they inhabit.

SPATIAL THERAPY

Q: What is Spatial Therapy?
A: Spatial Therapy is a science-based service that helps you turn your environment into an active partner in your health, mood, and longevity. Rooted in Selftropy™, it blends neuroscience, psychology, and environmental design to optimize how your surroundings support your energy, motivation, cognitive function, and overall wellbeing.

Q: How is Spatial Therapy different from interior design?
A: While interior design focuses on aesthetics, functionality, and spatial organization, Spatial Therapy focuses on the relationship between your mind and your environment. It’s not about redesigning your space—it’s about teaching you how to intentionally adjust your space to influence mood, regulate energy, and strengthen long-term wellbeing using evidence-based protocols.

Q: Who can benefit from this?
A: Anyone, at any stage of life. Whether you're creating a personal sanctuary, optimizing a work environment, or adapting a home for changing needs, Spatial Therapy offers practical, research-backed strategies that help you harness the full wellbeing potential of your environment.

Q: What formats are available?
A: Spatial Therapy is offered through exclusive consultations, in-depth articles, and specialized research-based tools. Many clients also follow The Selftropy Journal for ongoing guidance and self-directed learning.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP COACHING

Who is entrepreneurship coaching designed for?
A: This program is specifically designed for interior designers who want to build independent practices, advance their careers inside firms, or transition from designer to entrepreneur. Whether you're launching your first projects or aiming to scale, the coaching provides clear, actionable tools for long-term career growth.

Q: What topics are covered in coaching?
A: Coaching covers the full entrepreneurial spectrum: setting up your practice, business organization, automation, client communication, marketing, networking, and mental resilience in the design industry. It also includes advanced guidance on managing construction processes, building seniority faster, and navigating the complex emotional landscape of entrepreneurship.

Q: Is this coaching only for business owners?
A: No. While many clients are building independent practices, coaching is equally valuable for designers looking to accelerate their seniority and leadership positions within established firms.

Q: How is this different from typical business coaching?
A: This coaching is built by a designer, for designers. It combines global hands-on experience, academic teaching, and real-world firm leadership. The program addresses not just business mechanics, but also the unique professional, emotional, and creative challenges faced by designers inside a highly competitive and often ego-driven industry.

Q: What formats are available for entrepreneurship coaching?
A: Coaching is available through private sessions, focused coaching packages, and through our growing online Community, where you’ll also gain access to specialized resources, tools, and peer support.

Q: Is this one-on-one or group coaching?
A: We offer both. Many clients start with one-on-one sessions for tailored strategies, and later are interested to join group programs or workshops for peer learning and community support.

Q: Do I need to have an existing business to start?
A: No. We work with individuals at all stages—from early concept to established practice—helping you clarify your vision, structure your business, and grow with confidence.

WELLBEING LIFESTYLE COACHING

Q: What is wellbeing coaching at Land of Dochia?
A: Wellbeing coaching applies the Selftropy™ system to help you optimize your energy, mood, and cognitive resilience by aligning your environment, mindset, and daily habits. It's a science-based, systems-driven approach that teaches you how to sustain motivation, regulate mood, and build longevity through intentional design and behavior protocols.

Q: Is wellbeing coaching connected to interior design?
A: Yes. Spatial Therapy is one of the core components of Selftropy™, focusing on how your physical environment actively supports your mental and emotional state. But it extends beyond that and blends this with personal protocols to create a fully integrated system for optimal living. While your space plays a role, the focus is on how to tap into a more complex system where design, mindset, and habits interact to enhance overall wellbeing.

Q: How is wellbeing coaching different from therapy or general life coaching?
A: Unlike traditional therapy or coaching, Selftropy™ integrates environmental design, applied neuroscience, positive psychology, language, and behavioral science. The focus is not on diagnosing problems, but on building forward-oriented, practical strategies that help you structure your life for long-term health, clarity, and emotional stability.

Q: Is this about my home or my personal habits?
A: Both. We explore how your physical environment influences your mental and emotional states, and guide you in building supportive routines that align with your long-term health and life goals.

Q: Who is wellbeing coaching for?
A: Anyone looking to strengthen their personal wellbeing systems. Whether you're a professional, entrepreneur, caregiver, or simply seeking to live with more purpose and energy, Selftropy™ helps you develop inner tools and environmental strategies that support you at every stage of life.

Q: What topics are covered in wellbeing coaching?
A: Coaching covers five key pillars:

  • Time: Learn to structure your day without overwhelm using Selftropic planning.

  • Space: Apply the basics of Spatial Therapy to your personal environments.

  • Language: Master purpose-driven communication to support lasting happiness.

  • Thinking: Train your brain to develop positive neural patterns while avoiding rumination.

  • Self-Knowledge: Build inner resilience through scientifically grounded self-regulation techniques.

Q: What formats are available for wellbeing coaching?
A: Coaching is available through private sessions, in-depth consultations, Selftropy™ courses, and through our Community platform for ongoing education, resources, and peer support.
